The Research and Development (R&D) department, as the foundation of scientific management in companies, is increasing exponentially, to the point where it is said today that only companies that can increase the share of knowledge in their products will be able to survive and be competitive in the future. Accordingly, the position and necessity of the R&D unit in Noor Al-Hadid Company as a manufacturer of steel products is understandable.
The goal of the R&D unit is to create appropriate infrastructures to grow the research culture in the organization, to cultivate efficient researchers, and to implement research projects in order to meet the scientific and technical needs of the organization. The foundation and foundation of the R&D unit’s processes are established by modeling successful industrial enterprises. This unit tries to achieve the stated goals based on needs assessment, definition and implementation of internal and external research projects, as well as supporting the ideas of the company’s entrepreneurial personnel. The activities of the R&D unit are focused on three areas: “Research and Technology”, “Participatory Proposal System”, and “Knowledge-Based Management”.
The foundation and foundation of the R&D unit processes, which are established by modeling successful industrial enterprises, include the following:
1- Increasing productivity and use of human and financial resources and capital
2- Absorbing, adapting, modifying, innovating and developing technology
3- Managing waste and reducing pollutants
4- Optimizing existing processes
5- Developing products based on quality standards
6- Producing new products with consideration for their practical advantages
7- Optimizing energy consumption
8- Increasing the share of domestic materials and resources in production
9- Reducing the cost price and raw materials of production
Among the projects implemented by the R&D unit of Nik Yazd Steel Metal Company are research and development in improving the quality of steel balls, improving the production of steel alloys (70CR2, CK45, M040), a project to reduce energy consumption in production lines, and the design and implementation of new environmental solutions, including steel scrap recycling. The unit is also working on developing new projects such as green steel production and digitizing production processes in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
